Protest the murder of human rights defender - South Africa

On the night of the 29th September 2014 Thuli Ndlovu - the chair of Abahlali baseMjondolo - was murdered. An armed man burst into her home in KwaNdengezi, South Africa, and shot her seven times. She died at the scene. Abahlali baseMjondolo is a movement of the shack dwellers and those who are homeless in South Africa. It is an organisation that has organised campaigns against evictions, has organised squatters, and campaigns for public housing. It has been a thorn in the side of the neo-liberal ANC government, exposing their abandonment of the Freedom Charter and socialism. The leaders of Abahlali baseMjondolo have over the years faced threats and intimidation. We call for those who believe in social justice and human rights to show their solidarity by sending the attached letter of protest to Jacob Zuma the President of South Africa.
